Abbas Alvi

Abbas Alvi was a poet from Lahore whose works were composed in Urdu. He used the pen-name “Alvi” and continued the tradition of Urdu poetry until his death in May 2021. His poems include ghazals and individual couplets (sher). His style was rooted in the classical tradition of Urdu, with emphasis on finely crafted language, lyrical expression, and emotional resonance. He was appreciated among Urdu poetry circles for maintaining poetic elegance and depth.
